Iran to collaborate with Chinese navy to challenge the marine domination

Tehran: Trapped under the burden of harsh sanctions, Iran has indicated opening a major front against the United States, declaring complete support to the militarisation of the South China Sea by China. At the same time, Iran announced a special naval collaboration with China to challenge the marine domination of the United States. Iranian naval officials declared this in the special program of the Chinese navy, in China.

The establishment of the Naval wing of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army completed 70 years. A Selected few naval chiefs were invited to attend the function, organised to commemorate the feat. Destroyers from India, Russia, Australia and Iran were present at the occasion. During this function, Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi declared that Iran would establish a special collaboration with the Chinese navy. Before this, Rear Admiral Khanzadi strongly supported the creation and militarisation, of the artificial islands, in the South China Sea.

Khanzadi targeted the United States saying ‘China is developing its marine region and the countries not connected with this region, should not become aggressive about it. The same aggressive countries are interfering in the Iranian marine region.’ Following this, while talking to an Iranian news agency, Khanzadi appealed ‘In view of the increased importance of the Iranian and Chinese marine regions, it is necessary for the Chinese and Iranian navies to collaborate, to expel these arrogant superpowers from these marine regions.’

The senior Iranian naval official also said that the neighbours of Iran and China also should get involved in this collaboration. Khanzadi expressed confidence that if the other navies in this sector united, the security of the Indian Ocean region would become very strong. China has not reacted to the statements of the Iranian official. But Iran, trapped in the crisis of sanctions, seems to be making preparations to retaliate against the United States.

Meanwhile, as per the information received, Khanzadi, who announced special collaboration with the Chinese navy, has planned to hold joint naval exercises with the Russian navy, in the Strait of Hormuz. Khanzadi did not elaborate about the schedule of the war exercises. But Khanzadi also informed the media that before the Russian navy enters the Strait of Hormuz, the Iranian navy will hold joint war exercises with the Russian destroyers, in the Caspian Sea region. Therefore, it is apparent that Iran is trying to increase its military influence, collaborating with Russia and China against the United States.
