India zealous about the US MQ-9 Reaper Drone

New Delhi:The US President, Donald Trump, will be visiting India on February 24. Before this, the US has decided to provide the IADWS air defence system to India. However, Pakistan has objected to this decision and has called it ‘disturbing’. But, now, the news is surfacing that India is eager to purchase the ‘MQ-9 Reaper Drone’ from the US. This the drone that the US had used to assassinate Iran’s Commander Qasem Soleimani.

India zealous about the US MQ-9 Reaper DroneThe US targeted Soleimani’s entourage by attacking them outside the international airport of capital city Baghdad in Iraq. Soleimani was killed alongside his entourage. The US had used the MQ-9 Reaper Drone to carry out this attack. This thus proved the US’ ability to target the enemy by causing damage at the very least. Besides, India, who has been skirmishing against the terror emerging from Pakistan, vitally requires this sort of weapon capability.

The leaders of terrorist outfits that have been causing chaos in India and ISI handler Dawood Ibrahim have set their base up in Pakistan. Moreover, these outfits are active in the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir region and it is inevitable for India to take action against them. Hence, in such a situation, the MQ-9 Reaper Drone can play a significant role in India. Furthermore, India has announced to fight back terrorism and has clarified to the world that this is going to be the only policy.

Thus, it is being claimed that India will be ordering the MQ-9 Reaper Drone from the US. The media has published this news citing their sources from the government. Earlier, India had ordered for the ‘Predator Drone’ from the US. Pakistan had objected to India’s this demand as well. But, it is being claimed that the MQ-9 Reaper Drone will prove much more powerful than the Predator Drones because of its target accuracy.

Even though not many details have been revealed about this deal yet, the fact that the ‘MQ-9 Reaper Drones’ will be assembled in the Indian army could certainly leave Pakistan in tremors. A single Reaper drone costs $65 million. However, considering its target accuracy, India will definitely make efforts to obtain it. At the same time, India and the US have signed agreement regarding the advanced and sensitive defence technology and hence, nothing can hurt the trade related to these drones.
