A long-term war will flareup between India and Pakistan, claims National Intelligence Council

Washington: – India and Pakistan militaries have implemented a ceasefire on the Line of Control (LOC). Some people are predicting a dense possibility that talks will be held between the two countries. Going further, Pakistani journalists claimed that the Indian Prime Minister would be visiting Pakistan in October. Amid these claims, the National Intelligence Council of the United States has published a report inferring that long-standing war will be sparked between India and Pakistan. The report also claims that there is a possibility of an India-China conflict.

The Biden administration has warned that the United States will not withdraw the military from Afghanistan before the date given by the Taliban, and it will take six more months. In the meantime, the report of the National Intelligence Council has surfaced. The report warns that the effects of the US policies will be visible in the south Asian sector. If the United States withdraws its military from Afghanistan, a fierce conflict will break out between the Afghan army and the Taliban. The terrorist organisations will benefit from the conflict, and these terrorist organisations will have free movement in Afghanistan. This will affect the internal situation in Pakistan. The report points out that some influential terrorist organisations may carry out major terror attacks even in India.

If the Indian government decides that the attack carried out in India is very serious, and it is necessary to retaliate against it, a war will start between India and Pakistan. Pakistan will be forced to defend itself. The misjudgement of each other’s capabilities will prove to be decisive in the war. The report notes that this will be a long-drawn war. The National Intelligence Council claimed that the war between India and Pakistan would start because of a misunderstanding. While predicting the possibility of the India-Pakistan war, the council report also claims that an India-China conflict also may be sparked. This is evidenced by the Indo-China conflict over the LAC in Ladakh last year.

Meanwhile, the report notes that natural calamities also may play a significant role in the future of these countries. A devastating cyclone had hit east Pakistan in the year 1970. The Pakistan administration failed to handle the crisis. The report points out that this was the reason for the creation of Bangladesh in 1971. Claiming that such events are possible even today, the National Intelligence Council has referred to the pressure created by the Coronavirus pandemic on the economies of the South Asian countries, including India.

The report claims that there is a war of domination in South Asia between India and China. Some countries can leave the Indian side to support China. India can seek assistance from Japan to turn these countries on its side. Meanwhile, reports have been published even in the past, predicting an India-Pakistan war. At the same time, US analysts were claiming that war will flare up between India and China. The report of the National Intelligence Council also is making such startling predictions. But the report is likely to be used to avoid US military withdrawal from Afghanistan. The Biden administration may use this report to establish that the US military’s presence is critical from the point of view of the stability and security of the South Asian region. The Biden administration has started moves in that direction, and the report being submitted for this purpose cannot be denied.
