India will not accept outside interference in internal matters, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu

New Delhi: Vice President Venkaiah Naidu asserted, “The integrity and security of India are non-negotiable. India will not accept any outside interference in its internal matters.” His remarks came on the heels of the decision taken by India regarding Jammu-Kashmir, which was to be debated in the EU parliament. Nevertheless, the proposal has been postponed. However, the statement made by Vice President Venkaiah Naidu demonstrates India’s dissent over the proposal.

India will not accept outside interference in internal matters, Vice President Venkaiah NaiduIndia is a tolerant country, with ancient traditions and India was never an aggressor. Vice President Reprimanding some of the international institutions commenting against India, Venkaiah Naidu said that all the communities are safe in India. At the same time, he issued a stern warning that India will not tolerate interference from any country in its internal matters. The Indian Vice President was speaking at a function held in New Delhi.

Pakistan had prepared to bring a resolution against the Indian decision in the EU parliament by using malicious campaigning. Pakistan is alleging that India has meted out injustice to the Kashmiri people by abrogating Article 370 of the Indian constitution. Pakistan has also been criticising that with the imposition of a curfew India is oppressing the local population. A group of international media unaware of the Kashmir situation had supported the malicious Pakistani campaign. Some human rights organisations also had commented that India had trampled the human rights of the Kashmiri people by blocking the internet service.

As a matter of fact, the decisions taken by India were from the security point of view, which in turn refrained terrorists from causing any sabotage in Kashmir. The international media group supporting the Pakistani stand has deliberately chosen to ignore the fact. Against this background, preparations were being made to present a resolution against India over the Kashmir issue in the EU parliament. But the resolution has now been postponed. This is considered to be a political victory for India. But despite this, the Indian foreign ministry has warned that Kashmir is an internal matter for India and that there is no scope for foreign interference.

Vice President Venkaiah Naidu emphasised this stand once again. At the same time, Vice President Naidu appealed to the United Nations to draft a comprehensive resolution against terrorism. Reminding that the matter was pending since 1996 and calling it a responsibility of the international community, Naidu reprimanded the international community for not providing enough attention to the issue of terrorism.
