On Monday, in the evening around 6.30, the Pakistani military carried on continuous firing in the Nowshera area, in the Rajouri sector, along with mortar shelling. A Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) was killed in the attack. Whereas, the Pakistan military carried out mortar shelling in the Degwar area in the Poonch sector, for about an hour, at around 8.30 in the evening. The Indian soldiers have retaliated strongly against the Pakistani provocation.

It is claimed that an officer of Brigadier rank, along with two soldiers, were killed in the Indian attack. The name of the Brigadier also has been revealed. But the Pakistan military has tried to mislead the Pakistani media by informing them that it was a natural death. Pakistan has made attempts to hide deaths of the soldier killed in the border conflict even in the past. There is raging discontent in the Pakistan population against the military because of the corruption allegations levelled against the officers. Against this background, it is being claimed that the Pakistan military is hiding the cause of death of its soldiers, killed in the border conflict, to avoid further embarrassment.

Indian security forces started their activities in the Sugai village of the Shopian district late in the afternoon, on Tuesday. The security forces were tipped off that two to three terrorists are hiding in a house. Thereafter, Shopian police, 44 Rashtriya Rifles and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) laid a trap and cornered the terrorists. Initially, the terrorists were allowed to surrender. But after the terrorists opened fire on the security forces, one of the terrorists was killed in action by the security forces, and it is claimed that a minimum of two terrorists are waiting in ambush. The security forces have closed all the escape routes for these terrorists, and the details of the operation will be published soon.
