Indian Army, LAC, Arunachal Pradesh, China,Vice President Venkaiah Naidu recently visited Arunachal Pradesh. China had objected to the visit, claiming that Arunachal Pradesh was a part of its territory. India categorically refuted the Chinese claim. Meanwhile, there are reports that China is increasing its military activities along the border near Arunachal Pradesh. While the Chinese troops find it difficult against the Indian Army in Ladakh, China diverts attention by exhibiting aggression on the LAC of Arunachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

The Indian Army has taken serious note of the provocative actions of China to cover up its failure in Ladakh. India is using Heron drones purchased from Israel for continuous monitoring of mountainous areas on the LAC. This is thwarting China’s infiltration efforts, adding to their unrest. In such a scenario, Lieutenant General Pandey said that the Indian Army was keeping a close eye on the Chinese actions on the LAC near Arunachal Pradesh.

India is enhancing its military capabilities by deploying troops, artillery, air defence, tanks and logistics, and supplying essential commodities to prepare for war. The Army’s preparations with the Integrated Battle Groups-IBGs makes transport and deployment easier. Lieutenant General Pandey also pointed out that India has implemented many infrastructure projects on the LAC, which are benefiting the Army immensely. The Indian Army’s surveillance capability in the area has also increased tremendously, said Lieutenant General Manoj Pandey.

Meanwhile, India and China have a border management agreement in place for the LAC. China refuses to abide by the agreement and consistently violates it. Quoting this, Lieutenant General Pandey has warned China that India too is thinking of reconsidering the agreement’s provisions, given the Chinese activities. A few weeks ago, an Indian Army official warned China that the Indian military could become more aggressive on the LAC. At the same time, India indicates that it is preparing to change its stance on Tibet by launching Tibetan language classes for Indian Army officers.

According to the agreement between the two countries, India had recognized Tibet as part of China. However, to refute China which claims Arunachal to be part of its country, India is prepared to change its stance on Tibet, which would be a huge blow to China.
