Hungary will deploy military at the border, warns Viktor Orban

Budapest: “If Turkey realised the threat of opening the gates to Europe for the Syrian migrants, Hungary will deploy military at the borders, to stop the immigrants,” Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban warned. Hungary has already built a steel fence at the border and has also deployed special border forces. Orban has now, adopted a more aggressive stance against the migrants with the announcement of deploying the military.

Only last week, Turkish President, Recep Erdogan ordered a military action against the Syrian Kurds. Accordingly, reports of the Syrian civilian population majorly being the victims of the Turkish military action have been surfacing. Repercussions of which have been seen on the international level, especially in Europe. The European countries have taken a decision to stop weapons supply to Turkey criticising the unilateral action. At the same time, they have indicated imposing sanctions against Turkey.

While answering to the actions of the European countries, Turkey has once again, threatened over the issue of migrants. Turkish President Recep Erdogan threatened that the action initiated in Syria is for the integrity of Turkey. Still if the European countries accuse the Turkish military action in this manner, Turkey will open the gates to Europe for the 3.6 million Syrian refugees.’

Reactions are being received against the threat issued by the Turkish President and the announcement of the Hungarian Prime Minister, is a part of the same reaction. Orban warned, “The Turkish stand will be clear in the next few days. They have two options. According to the first option they will send the immigrants back to Syria and as per the other option the immigrants can be sent to Europe. If the second option is exercised, then thousands of immigrants can dash against the Hungarian border. We will have to deploy military to stop the influx.”

Orban had, even in the past, taken an aggressive stance against the migrants and justified the stance. The Hungarian Prime minister has demonstrated, with this fresh warning, that there is no change in his imigrant policy.
