Houthi rebels attack Saudi Arabian passenger airliner

Sana/Riyadh: Houthi rebels from Yemen, supporting Iran, threatened revenge by launching drone attacks on Saudi Arabian passenger airliners. Saudi Arabia informed that there were no casualties in the attacks. The western and Gulf media are claiming that the Houthi rebels are trying to incite a war when Saudi Arabia and its Arab allies are ready for a ceasefire.

On Wednesday, in the afternoon, the Houthi rebels launched four drone attacks on the Abha airport in south-west Saudi Arabia. All four drones were laden with bombs. Two of these drones crashed on a passenger airliner. The aircraft caught fire after this, but there were no casualties. The firefighters doused the fire in time.

But the report carried by the Saudi Arabian news channel said that a passenger airliner was damaged in the attack by the Houthi rebels.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Prince Faisal had warned a few hours ago that every country in the region, including Saudi Arabia, is faced with the security threat from Iran supported terrorist groups. The Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister warned that if the Biden administration does not swiftly act against Iran and these terrorist groups, the region could be destabilised.
