Even Himalaya cannot come between Indo-China Friendship, claims Chinese Foreign Minister

Beijing: ‘If there is a political will, even Himalaya cannot affect the friendship between India and China,’ claimed Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. At the same time, the Chinese Foreign Minister claimed that the project that India, Japan, Australia and the United States are planning as an alternative to ‘One Belt One Road’ (OBOR) will be like the froth on seawater and will dissipate in no time.

indina, china, himalayaThe Chinese Foreign Minister sent a message of friendship and co-operation while speaking at a press conference in Beijing. The Chinese Foreign Minister expressed an expectation that India and China should set the differences aside and take bilateral co-operation to new heights. Wang Yi said that this requires a political will and strategic co-operation plan and the leaderships of both the countries should take the initiative in the matter. Wang Yi assured that China is making efforts for developing ties with India and now its India’s turn to take the efforts further.

The Indian elephant and the Chinese dragon can dance to the same tune said Wang Yi and expressed confidence that if the two countries come together one plus one will not be two but will make it eleven. The Chinese Foreign Minister claimed that situations like Doklam have been faced by India and China even in the past but the relations between India and China have survived through the worst. The Foreign Minister who had reminded India of the 1962 defeat and had said that it could be repeated is now seen giving a message of co-operation with India.

China has sent such messages for co-operation even in the past. But, by the actions of this country it does not seem enthusiastic about any friendship with India. China has started to corner India by using all the India’s neighbouring countries. China is vying to make use of Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Bhutan and Maldives as their base. The Chinese effort to increase its influence in these countries is a warning bell for India. In spite of all this, China does not want to lose the huge Indian market.

Over the past few days, the possibility of a trade war starting between the United States and China has increased. China, therefore, cannot afford to lose a huge market like India. This seems to be the reason that China is sending these friendly messages to India.
