The Victory Day Parade is organised in Russia every year to commemorate the Russian victory over Nazi Germany during the second world war. This is the 75th year of the celebration. Russia has underlined the importance of India-Russia relations by inviting all the three Indian defence forces to participate in the Victory Day Parade. At the same time, Russia has agreed to expedite the delivery of S-400 air defence system to India. Along with this, there are reports that Russia has also agreed to supply Sukhoi and MiG fighter jets to India expeditiously. Chinese People’s Daily newspaper had raised objections to this defence deal between India and Russia.

The Chinese newspaper had said that Russia should not supply the S-400 air defence system and other defence equipment to India at a time when there is a border dispute raging between India and China, as it will deliver an incredibly wrong message. But Russia seems to have dismissed the Chinese demand made through the mouthpiece newspaper. Therefore, indications are that the S-400 and the fighter jets demanded by India will be delivered by Russia as soon as possible.
