Fuel shortages in UK due to consumer panic, PM Boris Johnson likely to deploy troops

London: – The effects of Brexit are becoming apparent on the British fuel sector. There has been a fuel shortage in the United Kingdom for the last two days, and there are serpentine queues outside fuel stations. The tanks at more than two-thirds of the fuel stations are empty, and the customers have started rioting for fuel at the other fuel stations. Prime Minister Boris Johnson has initiated urgent measures to prevent the situation from festering, and there is a possibility that the British Prime Minister may deploy military to bring the situation under control.

The United Kingdom exited from the European Union at the beginning of this year. This affected the British industry and other related sectors. The United Kingdom lost 72 thousand truck drivers and more than 125 thousand European citizens. But it is claimed that the shortage of truck drivers has hit the cargo movement in the United Kingdom and, in turn, has affected fuel supplies.

The United Kingdom initiated steps to fulfil this shortage of truck drivers. But the western media and analysts claim that the cargo movement, including fuel, was hit by this and has resulted in fuel shortages. The British government is preparing to issue work visas to nearly 5,000 truck drivers to streamline the cargo movement in the country. The visa will be valid only between the 1st of October to 24th of December.

But it is claimed that there is a massive fuel shortage being felt in the United Kingdom. There are boards of ‘No Fuel’ displayed at nearly two-thirds of the 5,500 fuel pumps in the United Kingdom. Whereas photographs and videos of serpentine queues outside the other fuel pumps have been making rounds. It is warned that if there is no timely action to fulfil the fuel shortage, these pumps also will go dry in a few days. The British citizens are demanding that not only fuel but also a need to address the issue of transportation of the other commodities.
