Fragments of Chinese rocket crash in the marine region near Maldives

Washington: Finally, the fragments of the Chinese rocket crashed in the sea near the Maldives. China had launched this rocket on the 29th of April. A threat of the rocket crash landing on earth had been issued after the rocket went out of control. Agencies in the United States and European countries were monitoring the developments. But a major calamity has been averted as the fragments landed in the sea. The US space research organisation NASA slammed China over the failure.

But Bill Nelson, an official at NASA, severely criticised the failed Chinese rocket mission. The countries launching space missions are expected to take care that the rocket will not re-enter the earth’s orbit and crash on the earth in case of a failure. Bill Nelson said that China failed in adhering to the international level of quality and standards.

Nelson rightly pointed out the Chinese failure saying it is irresponsible behaviour on the part of the country, launching a space mission, not taking proper precautions for not creating a threat to any country’s population. Chinese mouthpiece Global Times made a fuss that there is unnecessary criticism being showered onto China. There is always a chance about every launched rocket could crash. 70% of the earth’s surface is covered with water. Global Times claimed that there is no example to date that a rocket crash has caused any losses.

Despite this, the US media is criticising China in this matter. The westerners are not able to digest the meteoric rise of China in the space research sector. Therefore, this criticism is being made out of jealousy. Global Times accused that there is anti-China politics behind this. The United States is announcing the Chinese failure and attracting attention towards it. This is an effort to turn the international public opinion against China. Global Times also advised the Chinese government to publish all the related information and details regarding the failed mission, as there is a need that China replies to the US campaign.
