Eight killed after fire breaks out at Ahmedabad Covid hospital

Ahmedabad: In an unfortunate event, eight people lost their lives after a fire broke out at a Covid centre in a private hospital in Ahmedabad. This fire broke in the ICU ward of Shrey Hospital in Navrangpura region. The fire brigade rushed and extinguished the fire at the earliest. Moreover, the police have detained hospital staff for investigation. President Ramnath Kovind, PM Narendra Modi and Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani have expressed condolences regarding this event.

On Thursday, at 3:30 am, the fire broke out at the ICU ward on the fourth floor of Shrey Hospital. Moreover, this hospital facilitates treatment on Coronavirus. However, the reason for this fire is not known yet, and a short circuit is a reason being guessed. Eight people have died in this fire, which includes five men and three women.

Moreover, people started to run all over the place to save their lives after they learned about the fire outbreak. Also, the fire brigade rushed to the location as soon as they found out about this occurrence. The brigade saved 40 people from this disaster. As per the information provided by the fire brigade official, the injured were admitted in a nearby government hospital. Besides, it has emerged that the Shrey hospital did not have provision for fire safety.

Furthermore, Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani has ordered to investigate this incident. Also, the Chief Minister has ordered to investigate this matter and release its report within three days under the supervision of Sangeeta Singh, the Additional Chief Minister (Home Department). Moreover, the government has declared a financial aid worth two lakhs from the PM Cares Fund for the families of the dead. Besides, it has also allotted funds worth 50 thousand for the injured.
