Washington: – US President Donald Trump, who is emphasising that the Coronavirus outbreak started from a laboratory located at Wuhan in China, has issued a stern warning to China. President Trump warned that if it is proved that the Coronavirus pandemic, which has claimed thousands of lives around the world, was intentionally started by China, it will have to face dire consequences. The Australian Foreign Minister also has added to the Chinese pressure with a statement that the Coronavirus pandemic needs to be investigated in detail and this investigation should have nothing to do with the World Health Organisation.
President Trump clarified that China could not absolve itself by saying, ‘If China has started the pandemic intentionally, they will have to pay heavily for it. Even if it is a mistake, it will be investigated if the Chinese mistake was intentional.’ At the same time, as China knew that the situation in Wuhan had gone out of hand, China refused permission to the US officials to enter Wuhan to inquire regarding the pandemic. But now, the US President has announced that the United States has initiated an investigation.
Australian Foreign Minister, Marise Payne, criticised that the report regarding Coronavirus and its source, prepared by the World Health Organisation, cannot be believed. Payne said that an investigation by an international committee is necessary for the matter.
Since the last few days, it is evident that China is under tremendous pressure over the issue of Coronavirus. Some time back, the Chinese officials had levelled an allegation against the United States of planting Coronavirus in China. The United States had referred to the claims made in the Chinese media that the United States developed the Coronavirus, declared a biological war against China and made China a scapegoat. US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, had even asked China for an explanation. But China had not taken any official position in the matter.
Despite this, it was evident to the world that China was finding different ways to absolve itself of the blames regarding the pandemic. It is becoming clear, time and again, that the countries who are suffering humungous losses because of Coronavirus are not willing to believe in the Chinese claims regarding the matter in the current situation. The US President is sending blunt reminders to China of this stark reality every day.
