Nasik: The recovery of 60 gelatin sticks and 17 detonators in an unclaimed bag on the edge of the Pathardi-Gaulane road adjacent to the Mondhe locality, caused a major sensation. The police has said that they will be further investigating the issue.
At around 8:15 pm on Monday, a person reported the unclaimed sack on the edge of the road, to the Indira Nagar police. The Crime Branch Squad immediately rushed to the location and summoned the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS). Upon examination, the squad found 60 gelatin sticks and 17 detonators in that sack. The detonators and gelatin sticks have been seized by the police.
The Indira Nagar Police Station incharge, K. B. Choudhari said that further investigations are underway and we should be able more details later. In the meanwhile, it is being said that the gelatin sticks and detonators had been acquired in order to rip the mountains in the surrounding area apart. Nevertheless, the police are not willing to take any risks and will be carrying out a thorough investigation into the issue. Also, it is said that strict action will be taken against the responsible unknown persons for negligence towards explosives.
