All the major countries of the world are holding China responsible for the Coronavirus pandemic. US President has referred to the outbreak as a ‘Chinese Virus’. China had objected to this reference. China is contacting all the countries in the world and requesting them not to refer to this pandemic as a Chinese Virus and pleading that this will malign the Chinese image. But despite this Chinese political campaign, the accusations against China have not stopped. Angry reactions against China are emanating from some countries.

Brazil has accused China of a global conspiracy. Abraham Weintraub, the Brazilian Minister for Education, cited ‘Coronavirus pandemic is a Chinese conspiracy. There is the malicious intention to rule the world behind the conspiracy.’ Weintraub, while posting the accusation on the social media, has asked a question ‘Who will emerge stronger from this global geopolitical crisis?’ and also another one ‘Whose accurate plan for global domination is this?’ In this tweet, the Brazilian Minister has spelt Brazil as ‘Blazil’, the way it is referred to in China. In a way, Weintraub has linked China with the global Coronavirus crisis.

China has massive investments in Brazil. Both countries share excellent trade relations. Despite this, a Brazilian Minister has surprisingly made these direct allegations against China. Two weeks ago, Eduardo Bolsonaro, son of Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, had also levelled accusations against China. Eduardo Bolsonaro had held the Chinese communist party responsible for the Coronavirus crisis. Eduardo had accused that the Chinese dictatorship had misguided the world regarding the Coronavirus pandemic. This is the second accusation coming from Brazil after Eduardo.

Chinese Ambassador in Brazil, Yang Wanming, said that the accusations levelled by Brazil are laughable, rancorous and racist. China has warned Brazil that the allegations levelled by the Brazilian Minister are serious and the Brazilian government will have to justify the matter.
