Coronavirus claims 3,700 lives in a single day around the world -

Washington – Coronavirus, which has spread to 199 countries in the world has claimed more than 39,000 lives and there was an addition of 3,734 deaths in the last 24 hours. Nearly, 60,000 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours. The highest number of deaths were reported from Italy and thousands of new cases were reported from the United States, for the third successive day.

As per the information published by the World Health Organisation and other international organisations, Italy has reported 11,511 deaths due to Coronavirus. As informed by the Italian government, 812 patients died, in Italy, in the last 24 hours, including 11 doctors. Last month, 66 doctors attending to the Coronavirus patients had died in Italy. Four thousand new cases were detected in Italy, on Monday, taking the total number above a hundred thousand.

849 deaths were reported from Spain in the last 24 hours taking the total number of deaths to 8,189. Maximum deaths, 3,609, have been reported from capital Madrid. As per the information given by the Spanish government, 9,222 new cases were reported. The Spanish government said that soon 50,000 people would be screened per day. Currently, 20,000 people are being screened per day in Spain. The United Nations will be providing medical assistance to Spain for this purpose.

More than 600 people died, in France, in the last 24 hours and there was an addition of 4,000 new cases. French President Emmanuel Macron announced a fund of four billion Euros for the manufacture of masks and ventilators. 200 patients have died in the United Kingdom, in the last 24 hours and 2,500 new cases have been detected. Just like Europe, the shortfall of hospital beds is a major hurdle and shopping centres are being converted to hospitals for, the time being.

In the last 24 hours, 687 lives have been claimed by Coronavirus in the United States and the total deaths in this country has reached 3,177. On the same day, there were 22,000 new cases reported from the United States. President Trump has already announced that the number is increasing rapidly as the United States is screening a hundred thousand people per day. It has been clarified that there are 164,665 cases of Coronavirus in the United States and out of these 75,000 cases are in New York. It has also been revealed that 1,193 policemen have been infected with Coronavirus, in New York.
