Coronavirus cases in the country reach 235,000: 139 deaths in Maharashtra  

New Delhi: The number of Coronavirus cases in the country has reached 235,000. 275 deaths were reported from around the country, from Thursday till Friday morning and nearly 10,000 new cases were added. As per the information submitted by the states on Friday night, there is an addition of 9,000 new cases. 139 patients died in the state of Maharashtra in 24 hours. Nearly five patients are dying due to Coronavirus, per hour, in the state, which is becoming a cause for concern. The number of Coronavirus deaths and cases from Tamil Nadu and Gujarat also has shown an increase.

In the 24 hours, till Friday morning, 9,811 new Coronavirus cases were reported from the country. The health ministry declared that the total number of cases in the country has reached 226,000. But it was clear that the total number of cases reached 235,000 by Friday night. 5,200 new cases were reported from the three states of Maharashtra, Delhi and Tamil Nadu together, in the last 24 hours.  

Maharashtra reported 130 Coronavirus deaths in 24 hours, taking the total number of deaths to 2,849 and 2,436 new cases were added in the state. Therefore, the total number of Coronavirus cases in Maharashtra has crossed 80,000. In Mumbai, 54 deaths and 1,150 new cases were reported. The total number of cases in Mumbai has crossed 45,000. 30 deaths were reported from Thane and 14 from Jalgaon. 16 deaths were reported from Pune zone and 8 deaths were reported from Malegaon.  

Meanwhile, there was an addition of 1,330 new cases in Delhi, whereas Tamil Nadu reported 1,438 new Coronavirus cases. In the last one week, there was an addition of 61,000 new cases in the country and a possibility of the total number of cases in the country crossing 300,000, in this week, is being predicted if the rate of increase continues to be the same.
