Coronavirus cases in the country reach over 790,000

New Delhi: – The number of Coronavirus Cases in the country had reached 767,296, after 25,000 cases were reported in the 24 hours, ending Thursday morning. Whereas the number reached 790,000 by Thursday evening, with an addition of 20,000 new cases in the day.

The number of Coronavirus cases in the country is increasing rapidly. But the health ministry clarified that the community transmission phase has not started in the country. The number of tests has been increased all around the country. The number of tests conducted per day is 220,000. This is the reason for the increase in the number of new cases. But Rajesh Bhushan, an official with the health ministry pointed to the report published by the World Health Organisation, which claims that the rate of deaths and increase in the number of cases is the least in India. Bhushan also informed that 53% of the patients who died in the pandemic were senior citizens.

The number of Coronavirus deaths has reached 21,500. From Wednesday, till Thursday morning, 487 deaths were reported from around the country. But it is clarified that 400 deaths were reported till Thursday night. 219 deaths were reported from Maharashtra alone, in 24 hours. Out of these 68 are from Mumbai, 20 from Thane and 18 from Kalyan-Dombivali. The state reported 6,875 new Coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours. This has taken the total number of Coronavirus cases in the state to over 230,000.

45 deaths and 2,187 new Coronavirus cases were reported from Delhi, in the last 24 hours. Tamil Nadu reported 65 deaths and 426 new cases. 17 deaths and 2,228 new cases were reported from Karnataka. The number of Coronavirus cases are also increasing rapidly in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. More than 1,200 new cases were reported from Uttar Pradesh for the second successive day. The Uttar Pradesh government has imposed a strict lockdown from 10th to 13th July, in view of these increasing numbers.
