China withdraws its soldiers from LAC in Ladakh

New Delhi: – A Chinese analysts claimed, ‘China withdrew more than 200 tanks from the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in a single day. This development only indicates that China is making a genuine effort to create camaraderie on the LAC in Ladakh. At the same time, China has demonstrated its strength that if it has withdrawn so fast from the region, it can re-deploy in the region with the same speed.’ Global Times, the mouthpiece of the Chinese government, has published this claim. But the former Indian military officials and analysts are claiming that China was in a hurry to withdraw from the region without denting its pride. Therefore, China withdrew from the area acceding to the Indian demand.

The Chinese military is withdrawing from the Pangong Tso lake region in Ladakh. Nearly 200 Chinese tanks have returned to base. China is even winding up the constructions started in the area. China has conceded to all the Indian demands in this respect. India had warned that China should retreat from the Pangong Tso lake region, to beyond the Finger 8. Accordingly, the Chinese military has complied with the demand. Qian Feng, Director of the National Research Institute in the Tinghua University of China, claimed that China had shown this honesty for harmony and peace in the region.

Feng tried to glorify his country, saying that the withdrawal from the LAC, in Ladakh, demonstrate the honesty and strength of the country. But the former Indian military officials are pointing out that China did not achieve anything with the intrusion in the Pangong Tso lake region and instead has lost a lot. China never thought of such a strong Indian reaction to the Pangong Tso lake region’s intrusion and the attack in the Galwan Valley. China had not prepared even for a prolonged military deployment in the Ladakh winter. This had a detrimental effect on the morale of the Chinese military.

The Chinese soldiers, who were not used to the Ladakh winter, froze there. At the same time, the Indian military was operating there with ease. Even in this scenario, the Chinese media portrayed a picture that China had the upper hand. But even the western media accepted that the Chinese military does not have the capability to face the Indian army in the Ladakh winter. China tried to pressurise India in the other sectors along the LAC. But the Chinese efforts proved to be futile due to the alertness of the Indian military.

In this scenario, China is desperate to justify the military withdrawal from the LAC in Ladakh. Feng complained that although the Chinese military has withdrawn from the region, the Indian army is still deployed in the area, citing technical reasons.
