China rushes to Russia to overcome the power outage issue

Moscow/ Beijing: The Chinese Communist Party, which boasted about becoming a superpower, had to rush to Russia to overcome the power outage problem. China has demanded that the electricity supply must be doubled via Amur-Heihe Electric Transmission Line. A Russian company has backed this demand and decided to supply electricity to China from 1 October.

Over the last few months, several Chinese provinces have been facing frequent power cuts. This outage has severely affected a thousand businesses in China; plus, 100 million civilians had to suffer a power cut, as per the information revealed. The power outage has affected the production of foreign companies, so it can affect the economy as well, as claimed.

Moreover, the Chinese Communist Party has initiated steps to reduce the pollution levels in China, given the Global Environment Conference to take place next month and the Winter Olympics scheduled in 2022. China has also ordered coal mining companies and coal-energy producing projects to reduce their operations. Over 50% of electricity production in China is based on coal projects. Thus, the reduction in coal production has caused a power outage.

Furthermore, the cost of natural gas has increased and electricity production based on water is facing technical problems. Also, the consumption of electricity among the citizens of China is more than people around the world. The reduction in electricity supply and rise in demand has caused the equation of electricity supply to go haywire. As per the information published by Chinese and foreign media, the most affected regions due to lack of electricity are Guangdong in South China and Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang in northeast China.

The total population in China’s northeastern provinces of Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang is over 100 million and they significantly contribute to the Chinese economy. Apart from China’s official press, the responses about this have emerged on social media as well. Hence, the issue of power outages in these regions is significant, according to the Chinese Communist Party. So, it is said that China is rushing to Russia. Since 2012, the Amur-Heihe Electric Transmission Line has been active between Russia and China. Russia supplies 750 watts of electricity via this transmission line. China has also signed a 25-year-long deal for this.
