British Prime Minister supports Trump proposal on Iran‘Iran is violating the provisions of the 2015 nuclear deal. There is no meaning left in the agreement anymore and the signatory countries need to exit from the deal.’ At the same time, Johnson suggested that if the Iranian nuclear program is to be stopped, the new proposal presented by President Trump can be considered as an option to the nuclear deal.

The United States announced its withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal in 2018. The US President took this decision alleging that the nuclear deal was completely faulty, and Iran was taking full advantage of the deal. President Trump had appealed to the other signatories in the agreement- Germany, France and the United Kingdom, to withdraw from the deal. But instead of following the agreement, Germany, France and the United Kingdom chose to support the Iran nuclear deal. The European countries were making an insistent demand that Iran should abide by the provisions of the nuclear deal, despite US withdrawal. Iran defied this demand and announced an aggressive decision to increase the level of Uranium enrichment.

Iran announced the end of the nuclear deal, following the killing of Qassem Soleimani by the United States. Reactions have been received from France and the United Kingdom who were supporting Iran. Two days ago, France warned that Iran would become a nuclear country within two years. Following that, the British Prime Minister too announced that the 2015 Iran nuclear deal has been scrapped and passed a verdict that the proposal given by US President Trump is the only appropriate option for Iran. This changed stance of France and the United Kingdom has been welcoming for the United States.
