The US and NATO military withdrawal from Afghanistan has started. It is claimed that there are about 2,500 to 3,500 US soldiers in Afghanistan. This military withdrawal which started on 1st May, will continue till 11th September. US President Joe Biden had said that the US objectives have been achieved in Afghanistan. Still, as per Pentagon, the US defence headquarters, the possibility of attacks on the US soldiers cannot be denied.

Therefore, the United States has deployed additional 600 soldiers to ensure the safe withdrawal of its military. Moreover, Pentagon informed that an aircraft carrier and two bombers have been kept ready in the Gulf region. Although Pentagon has not taken names, the military analysts in the country warn that there is a threat to the US military withdrawal.

The Taliban is being accused of the terror attack carried out in the Logar province in eastern Afghanistan, near the Pakistan border. 27 people were killed in this blast that was carried out at the entrance of a guest house. A minimum of 90 people were injured in the attack. The terrorists triggered the blast at a time when a large number of locals had assembled for festive celebrations. 47,245 civilian casualties have been reported in the conflict, continuing in Afghanistan for the last 20 years. More than 66,000 Afghan soldiers have lost their lives in encounters with the Taliban. Millions are claimed to have been displaced in the two-decades-long conflict. The international analysts believe that the violence will increase in Afghanistan after the US military withdrawal.

The Afghan security agencies and intelligence agencies are accusing the Taliban is still cooperating with terrorist organisations Al Qaeda and Haqqani Network. At the same time, the Pakistan military and its notorious intelligence agency ISI is waiting to take control of Afghanistan following the US military withdrawal.
