Iran poses a bigger threat to UAE than Israel, warns ex-Mossad chief Yossi Cohen

Abu Dhabi: – Yossi Cohen, the former head of the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad, warned that the Iranian threat to the security of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was greater than the threat to Israeli security. At the same time, countries in the region need to unite to face this threat; Cohen appealed through a meeting in Abu Dhabi.

The trade meeting ‘Beyond Business’ was held in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE. Hundreds of traders from Israel and the UAE took part in it. The meeting was held on the first anniversary of the Abraham Agreement between the two countries. Yossi Cohen, former Chief of Israeli intelligence, was also present.  

Cohen is claimed to have played a vital role in the Abraham agreement between Israel and the Arab world. He is also said to have attended the meeting because of this fact. Moreover, Cohen claimed that Israel and the UAE could develop the region by increasing mutual trade at the meeting. While speaking about the threat to the region’s security, Cohen mentioned Iran and terrorist organizations affiliated with Iran.  

Cohen said Iran poses a bigger threat to the security of the UAE than to Israeli security. Earlier, the stability of the UAE was threatened by Iran. But the Iranian threat is still looming. Cohen said the UAE’s safety is threatened by terrorist organizations such as Hezbollah, Hamas and Islamic Jihad, which are affiliated with Iran. Cohen underlined that Israel, the UAE and other countries in the region must unite to counter the threat posed by Iran and terrorist organizations affiliated with Iran.
