Biggest IS module in Bengaluru busted after Kerala

Bengaluru: – National Investigation Agency (NIA) has busted the IS module, in Bengaluru and arrested two people. A few people had gone from Bengaluru, to Syria and Iraq. The second highest number of people had gone to Syria and Iraq to join IS, from Bengaluru, after Kerala. Two of them died while fighting for IS in Syria. Whereas, the rest returned to India and are still absconding. The two arrested from Bengaluru, are from the same group.

kerala-bengaluruNIA arrested two IS terrorists named Abdul Kader and Irfan Nasir. Kader works for a bank and Nasir has his own family business. These two arranged to take care of the expenses, of most members of the module.  22 people from Kasargod and Palakkad districts went to Iraq and Syria. This is believed to be the biggest group, going to Iraq and Syria from India. The officials said that the second biggest module is from Bengaluru.  

In the month of August, an ophthalmologist named Abdur Rehman had been arrested. He was working in the Ramaiya Hospital in Bengaluru. NIA arrested Rehman under the suspicion of being a member of Islamic State, Khorasan Province. The IS module was exposed in the information disclosed by him, during interrogation.
