Washington: Former US Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, launched a scathing attack saying that US President Biden does not find it necessary to criticise China. China is trying to become the mightiest country in the world. At the same time, this country is carrying out Uyghur genocide. Such weak leadership of President Biden will adversely affect the US future. Former US President, Donald Trump also targeted President Biden over the meeting with China in Alaska.
He consistently took an aggressive stand against China. The Trump administration even took actions against China over the issues like South China Sea, Taiwan, Uyghur people, Tibet, 5G and espionage. But since Biden took over as the President in January, the intensity of the actions has reduced considerably. President Biden, who is imposing successive sanctions against Russia, has adopted a moderate stand regarding China. He had taken a controversial stand supporting China on the Uyghur issue.
A few days ago, President Biden made a statement on the China issue during a press conference. President Biden had said that the Chinese ambition is to become the richest and mightiest country in the world. I will not criticise China for this objective. The Republican party has started targeting President Biden over this stand; the criticism made by Nikki Haley also is a part of the same campaign.
Last month, Nikki Haley, while presenting an aggressive stand on the Uyghur genocide, demanded that the United States not participate in the 2022 Winter Olympics to be held in China. Former US Ambassador, Haley, had compared the XI Jinping rule in China with Hitler Rule in Nazi Germany in an article written for a US news agency.
After Nikki Haley, former President Trump also slammed the Biden administration over the China issue. A few days ago, a special diplomatic meeting was held between the United States and China in Alaska. It was reported that there were strong verbal clashes between the US and Chinese leaders during the session. At this time, the Chinese leaders had fired a salvo of criticism, reprimanding that China will not accept leadership of the United States.
Trump warned that he would not have tolerated such criticism against his delegation, as the President of the United States. The Former President pointed out that the Chinese leaders reprimanding the US leaders during the Alaska meeting is a huge insult for the President of the United States. Trump also said that if he were in Biden’s place, he would have imposed harsh sanctions against China, over this issue. Former President Trump also reminded that such incidences never happened during the meetings with China during his tenure as President.
