Attacks on Kabul airport worsen the situation in Afghanistan

Washington – No terrorist group has yet claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing at Kabul airport. Some US officials have expressed scepticism about IS (Islamic State). Former staffers at the US defence headquarters, Pentagon, said in a statement that the attack was carried out by the Taliban or a group within the Taliban. Analysts also point out the Taliban’s announcement that it will not allow Afghan land to be used for terrorism has angered terrorist groups such as Al-Qaeda and IS.

Kabul, Taliban, Kabul airport, Terror Attack, AfghanistanThe United States, the United Kingdom and Germany have warned of possible terrorist attacks on Kabul airport. The security of the airport was threatened due to the enormous crowd that had gathered here. In such a situation, terrorist organisations carried out suicide attacks here and shocked the whole world. However, since the airport’s security is not entirely in the hands of the Taliban or the United States, it has become tough to determine the responsibility. It is also claimed that it is not easy to trace the terrorist organisation behind this.

The Taliban has vowed that Afghan soil will not be used for terrorism. This has angered the terrorist organisations IS and Al-Qaeda. A former Pentagon official said that the bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a crowd of 2,000 people. At the same time, the former official said that the Taliban was not a homogenous group and that the possibility of groups within the Taliban carrying out the attack could not be ruled out.

Analysts worldwide say the attacks are a forewarning of how dire the situation could be in Afghanistan shortly. Some people claimed that if the Taliban came to power in Afghanistan, there would be no terrorist attacks. But the suicide bombings at Kabul’s airport have dispelled the claims. The message that the Taliban will not be able to provide security in Afghanistan has reached the world. Therefore, the security situation in Afghanistan could be the biggest challenge facing the international community in the years to come.
