India increases military deployment in Ladakh after Chinese intrusion: military on high alert in Himachal

New Delhi: India has completed its preparations to stop China, who is challenging India in Sikkim, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh. India has increased its military deployment in these border regions, and the soldiers from the Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) are patrolling too in the Lahaul Spiti region in Himachal Pradesh. With this, India is delivering a stern message to China.

China has increased its activities for dominance at a time when the entire world is busy fighting the Coronavirus menace. Chinese aggressive actions, in the last two weeks, at the Indian border region indicate the same thing. The Indian military has been alerted because of the Chinese activities in the Ladakh and Sikkim regions since the Chinese army had also attempted intrusion in the Naku La pass in Sikkim. The activities of the Chinese military had also increased in Demchok and near the Galwan river. Activities of the Chinese army in the Ladakh region remind of the 1962 Chinese aggression, as at the beginning of the 1962 war too, China had set up tents near the Galwan river.

The Indian military, alerted by this, has increased its level of preparedness and additional deployment has been made for the security of the strategically important Ladakh border. Some time ago, the Chinese soldiers had attempted to set up tents at the Ladakh border for a day or two. But the Indian military cannot ignore the current Chinese military activities, given the increased incidence of intrusion and its duration. This has warranted additional deployment in the Ladakh region.

The Indian military and ITBT have increased the patrolling in the Lahaul and Spiti region in Himachal Pradesh. The Lahaul and Spiti border region were comparatively quiet during the 1962 war. But the Indian military has taken serious cognisance of the hovering of Chinese helicopters in this region. The fact that the Indian fighter jets had chased away the Chinese helicopters is enough to demonstrate the level of alertness of the Indian defence forces.

There is a big Chinese airbase, nearly 100 kilometres from the border area, to which China had sent its helicopter. This Chinese airbase, known as Shigatse, is considered to be a challenge to the Indian air security. This is the reason for the Indian military taking serious cognisance of the intrusion by the Chinese helicopter.
