23 Students in Afghan school killed due to suicide blast – local reporters allege death toll to be over 100

Kabul: 23 students were killed in a horrific suicide blast in a school building in the capital Kabul. But a local journalist has claimed that 100 people died in Friday’s explosion. Besides, reports of the Taliban denying permission to the students’ relatives in the hospital. Therefore, it is feared that more people may have died in this explosion.

Moreover, around 7:30 on Friday morning, a massive explosion occurred in a school in the Dasht-e-Barchi area of Sector 13 of Kabul. The spokesperson of Kabul Police announced that 23 people were killed and 100 people were injured. The blast occurred in an area inhabited by the Hazara community, a minority in Afghanistan. No terrorist organisation has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. But the terrorist organisation ‘IS-Khorasan’, which has been targeting the Hazara community for the past year, is claimed to be responsible for this.  

A local journalist in Afghanistan claimed that at least 100 students were killed in Friday’s explosion. After this journalist said on social media that he saw the dead bodies of these students, reactions came from the international level. At the same time, IS attacks on minorities in Afghanistan are increasing and the Taliban is only speaking the language of action. Meanwhile, Afghanistan and neighbouring nation Iran criticise the Taliban for not acting against IS.
