Afghan security forces kill 70 Taliban commanders & 152 Pakistani terrorists 

Kabul: – 70 Taliban commanders were killed in the strong action taken by the Afghan security forces in the Helmand and Kandahar provinces of Afghanistan. At the same time, the Afghan interior ministry said that 152 terrorists from Pakistan also were killed. The UN report published earlier had claimed that there are a large number of Pakistani terrorists active in Afghanistan. This claim gets endorsed after this action.

Taliban was perpetrating violence on a massive scale in the Helmand and Kandahar provinces, of Afghanistan. In the last 25 days, 134 innocent civilians have been killed in Taliban violence. Against this background, the Afghan security forces had undertaken a strong action to retaliate against these Taliban attacks. 70 Taliban commanders were killed in this action. A large number of Taliban terrorists were also killed during the action, the Afghan interior ministry spokesman, Tariq Arin, said that there were 152 terrorists from Pakistan, among the killed terrorists.   

Tariq Arin even released the list of Taliban commanders and Pakistani terrorists. He informed that the Afghan security forces killed 20 Taliban commanders in the Helmand province. 40 Taliban commanders were killed in the Kandahar province and ten were killed in the Uruzgan and Ghazni provinces.  

Meanwhile, on Sunday night, fierce fighting broke out between Afghan security forces and Taliban in the Dasht-e-Archi district, in the Kunduz province. The Taliban launched attacks on posts of the Afghan security forces; three Afghan soldiers were killed in the attacks. The Afghan air force also joined the fray. 8 Taliban terrorists were killed in the encounter; more than 13 were injured.
