Afghan military ready to crush Taliban, senior Afghan military official asserts

Kabul: – as declared by US President Joe Biden, the process to withdraw the US military from Afghanistan has started. Concerns are being expressed over this action, from the world over. Moreover, it is claimed that the Taliban will gain control over Afghanistan in the coming times. A senior Afghan military official has reacted to this claim. The official expressed confidence that soldiers from the Afghan Special forces were ready to crush the Taliban after the US military withdrawal. Meanwhile, the Afghan military has killed 131 Taliban terrorists in the last 36 hours. Whereas, as per received information, the Taliban has sent letters to certain leaders in Afghanistan for direct talks.

taliban-afghan-militaryWhile concerns are being expressed from the world over regarding the withdrawal of US and NATO forces from Afghanistan, General Haibatullah Alizai, commander of the Special Operations Command of the Afghan military, said that have faith in the Afghan soldiers. General Alizai claimed that after the US and NATO forces have withdrawn from Afghanistan, the soldiers from the Special Operations will bust all the Taliban attacks. General Alizai also said that the Taliban could not win against the Afghan soldiers.  

General Alizai told a local news channel that 95% of the personnel involved in the missions against Taliban are Afghans even today. The foreign soldiers do not have any significant role in these missions. Our soldiers are responsible for planning and execution of the missions. General Alizai posed a challenge that the Taliban should stop the cowardly acts like using children as shields, wearing veils of women and hiding in civilian settlements. Come face to face on a bat, the field and we will take the war to a fitting end. 

Since the last few days, the Afghan military has intensified its actions against Taliban. In the last 36 hours, the Afghan army has taken actions in Laghman, Ghazni, Kandahar, Zabul, Herat, Ghor, Balkh, Helmand, Takhar and Paktika provinces. Afghan defence ministry informed that 131 Taliban terrorists were killed in action and these included four Pakistanis. The Afghan defence ministry informed that 30 Taliban terrorists have been injured in the actions and four have been arrested.   

Some incidents of Taliban terrorists surrendering in front of this action of the Afghan military also have been reported. Whereas accusations that the Taliban is trying to create a divide in the Afghan government are being made. As per the report of an Afghan news channel, the Taliban has written letters to Chief Executive Official Dr Abdullah Abdullah, former President Hamid Karzai and some other leaders.  

The Afghan leaders are claiming that Taliban is trying to establish an independent dialogue with Afghan leaders. But the Afghan leaders also claimed that this is an attempt to create a divide between them and the agency created by the Afghan government for negotiating with the Taliban.
