90 Taliban terrorists killed in attack by Afghan Army

Tehran: – The Afghanistan military killed 90 Taliban terrorists in the actions carried out in the last 48 hours. The Afghan defence ministry informed that these included Taliban commanders. Information is being received that Afghan President Ashraf Ghani is preparing to present a fresh peace proposal to the Taliban. But Taliban has asserted that this is not possible without complete withdrawal of the US and NATO militaries. Therefore, it is clear that Afghanistan is poised to witness another fierce conflict and the action started by the Afghan army against the Taliban only demonstrates that.

Other than this, five terrorists were killed in the Takhar province in action taken on Sunday.

A huge number of arms has been seized during the action against the Taliban in the last 48 hours. The Afghan military informed that these include 13 landmines. This is considered to be the biggest action taken by the Afghan army in the previous week. The Afghan government clarified that the action against the Taliban, posing a threat to Afghan security, will continue. But at the same time, the Afghan government has announced that it will negotiate with the Taliban for stability in the country.

Against this background, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has made preparations to present a fresh peace proposal to the Taliban during the meeting scheduled to be held in Turkey this month. As per received information, the proposal includes establishing a ceasefire in Afghanistan through political negotiations, the Taliban’s participation in the fresh Presidential elections to be held in the country and work for development in Afghanistan.

But the Taliban’s demand is the complete withdrawal of US and NATO militaries from Afghanistan. Taliban has already threatened that if the western forces do not leave Afghanistan before the 1st of May, they should be prepared to face dire consequences. US President Joe Biden has suggested that the US military withdrawal can be started after six months, ignoring the Taliban threat. Taliban has expressed annoyance over the announcement.

In this scenario, the Afghan security agencies accused the Pakistani intelligence agency, ISI, invited the Taliban leader to Peshawar for a meeting and prepared to start a war in Afghanistan. At the same time, the Afghan security agencies have issued a stern warning that Afghanistan is ready for it if Pakistan wants a war.
