Afghanistan, Taliban, GunfireThe Taliban have been in control of Kabul for more than two weeks. But they have not yet succeeded in taking control of the whole of Afghanistan. Panjshir province, some 125 kilometres from the capital Kabul, is free of the Taliban, and Ahmad Massoud’s government here has rejected the Taliban leadership.

Former Afghan Vice President Amrullah Saleh and Ahmad Massoud have opened the Northern Alliance front against the Taliban in Panjshir. It was reported that Afghan soldiers and gangs were joining their anti-Taliban front. This has increased the uneasiness of the Taliban and pro-Taliban Pakistan.

Afghanistan, Taliban, GunfirePakistan and the Taliban released reports that Saleh and Massoud have surrendered to the Taliban and are ready for negotiations. But the Taliban and Pakistan were exposed when photographs and videos of Taliban militants being killed in Northern Alliance attacks were released. After this, the Pakistani media started accusing India and Tajikistan of supplying arms to the Northern Alliance.

Meanwhile, the Taliban and Pakistani media had launched a campaign to break the deadlock in Panjshir. Reports that the Taliban took control of Panjshir after Saleh and Massoud fled to Tajikistan, frightened by Taliban attacks, and now the whole of Afghanistan is under Taliban control were presented by the Pakistani media.

However, Former Vice President Saleh released a video with the help of a British news channel saying that they are still in Panjshir and the fight against the Taliban is still ongoing. This led to the failure of the propaganda for a second day in a row. But the Pakistani propaganda killed 17 people in Kabul on Friday.

Afghanistan, Taliban, GunfireIn a frenzy of victory in Panjshir, Taliban militants opened fire in the air in the capital Kabul and Jalalabad in Nangarhar province. Seventeen people were killed, and 50 were injured in the shooting. Criticism of the Taliban’s impatience that led to innocent Afghans losing lives has intensified since the incident. This forced the troubled Taliban leaders to reprimand their terrorists.

Meanwhile, the Northern Alliance has accused Pakistani soldiers of supporting Taliban militants in the conflict in Panjshir. Evidence is coming to the fore that some of those killed in the clashes have Pakistani military IDs. Therefore, the Pakistani security system’s backing to the Taliban militant group has been exposed yet again. That is why Pakistan seems to be so sensitive about the Panjshir Valley.
