Damascus: Fifteen people were killed in the airstrikes launched by the Israeli fighter jets on two Syrian military bases. The Syrian human rights organisation claimed that there were members of Hezbollah, an Iran-affiliated terrorist organisation, among the dead. The Syrian mouthpiece confirmed the reports of the Israeli airstrikes. The Syrian news agency claimed that the Syrian military forced the Israeli fighter jets to retreat by activating the air defence system.
As per the Syrian news agency, the Israeli fighter jets targeted two cities near capital Damascus, on Wednesday, in the night. The Israeli fighter jets carried out airstrikes on the el-Kisweh and al-Dimas towns to the south of Damascus. The news agency SANA claimed that missiles were also fired at the southern border region of Syria.
But the Syrian military used the surface-to-air missiles to target and destroy the Israeli missiles. At the same time, the Syrian army has been claimed to have used even the anti-aircraft guns. The Syrian military and the mouthpiece news agency have contended of neutralising the Israeli attacks. But the human rights organisation has proved the Syrian military and news agency’s claims to be false. Even on Thursday, the human rights organisation contradicted the Syrian military’s claims and the news agency. The organisation informed that Hezbollah, the Iran-affiliated terrorist organisation, has set up its bases in el-Kisweh and al-Dimas cities. 15 Hezbollah terrorists were killed, and a few were injured during the Israeli airstrike on these Hezbollah bases. A former soldier, who has rebelled against the Syrian military, said that the attacks were on the bases of Revolutionary Guards in southern Syria. This is the third Israeli attack in Syria in the last ten days. Israel is continuing its attacks on the locations of Iran, Hezbollah and other Iran-affiliated terrorist organisations. Israel has asserted that whatever threats are issued by Iran, these attacks will not stop.
