12,000 PPE kits being manufactured, per day, in Madhya Pradesh -

New Delhi: 12,000 Personal Protection Kits (PPE) are being manufactured, per day, in the state of Madhya Pradesh (MP), during this Coronavirus crisis. Till date, nearly 150,000 kits have been manufactured in the state. There was a major shortage of the PPE kits, for the safety of the doctors and medical staff, treating the Coronavirus patients. After receiving repeated complaints from the medical fraternity, regarding the shortage of kits, the union government had decided to import the kits. But now, the DRDO has developed the kits and supplied the technology to companies for the manufacture of millions of kits.

DRDO has developed Ventilators, PPE Kits, Masks and Bio Suits for the fight against Coronavirus, on a war footing. Now, it has allowed Indian companies to manufacture these items. Accordingly, companies in MP have started manufacturing these Kits in large numbers.

The companies in MP can manufacture 12,000 kits per day. There is a demand for 10,000 kits from the state of MP, itself. The MP government officials informed that the balance kits are being supplied to the other states as per requirements. Till date, 150,000 kits have been manufactured. The officials further added that 75,000 kits, out of these, have been supplied to Bhopal and Indore. The Mask production also is going on in the state of MP. Meanwhile, the Indian Railways is also manufacturing PPE Kits.
