World will face major fuel crisis due to Iran, claims French-British analyst

London: Catherine Shakdam, a French-British analyst, warned, ‘The geographical location of Iran is a bigger strength of the country than nuclear weapons. Iran will use nuclear weapons as a shield. But Iranian control over the Strait of Hormuz and Bab Al-Mandab Gulf could block the entire global fuel movement. The crisis created in that scenario will be bigger than the one created by the Russia-Ukraine war.’ Catherine also appealed that the Iranian issue needs to be resolved through negotiations and not through a war.

World will face major fuel crisis due to Iran, claims French-British analystIt is being claimed that the nuclear deal negotiations between the United States and Iran have fallen through over the last ten months. Iran has placed specific demands in front of the United States to sign the nuclear deal. These include the demand for the withdrawal of sanctions imposed against Iran and the removal of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards from the list of terrorist organisations. According to the US media, the Biden administration has turned its back on the Iranian demands. At the same time, reports of the United States providing assistance to Israel for launching attacks on Iran are also being received.

Against this background, Catherine Shakdam, a French-British journalist working in Iran for the last few years, issued the warning about the new fuel crisis in an article written for a think tank. A Global fuel crisis has developed due to the Russia-Ukraine war. Russia is being held responsible for the situation. But Catherine pointed out that if the western countries threatened Iran, it could block two major pathways of fuel movement. Catherine pointed to the geographical advantage of Iran for this purpose.

World will face major fuel crisis due to Iran, claims French-British analystThe strait of Hormuz connecting the Persian Gulf with the Arabian Sea is entirely under Iranian control. Iran-affiliated Houthi rebels in Yemen control the Bab Al-Mandab Gulf connecting the Indian Ocean to the Red Sea. Therefore, Catherine pointed out that the major fuel and trade pathways are under Iranian control. Catherine claimed that both these waterways were ‘Choke Points’.

In such a scenario, the western countries should not try to corner Iran. Catherine warned that in that situation, Iran could trigger a major fuel crisis by blocking both the Choke Points. The fuel crisis will be a bigger threat than nuclear weapons because the world cannot bear another fuel crisis after the Ukraine conflict.

Meanwhile, Catherine Shakdam has been working with an Iranian news channel for the last few years. She had been accused of being an agent of the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad. She had also been charged with hacking the website of supreme Iranian religious leader Ayatollah Khamenei.
