Last year, the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India (DFCC) had undertaken this rail project. Breaking the mountain rocks to create a tunnel was a huge challenge. But this challenge was accomplished by the able engineers of this company. On Friday, the work of one-kilometer railway tunnel was completed. This is a great achievement, especially as the work was completed in a lesser span in the phase of Coronavirus pandemic.

This tunnel, which will be ready by the end of 2020 is D-shaped and hence, secured. Additionally, it has been built using advanced technology. Moreover, double-stack rail containers can run through this tunnel at the speed of 100 km/hr. This tunnel is a part of Western Dedicated Freight Corridor of the railways. Furthermore, it is said that six such tunnels are going to be developed.
