It is claimed that US Secretary of State Blinken, who will visit India next week, will hold in-depth discussions with Indian leaders on the Afghanistan issue. As Taliban violence escalates in Afghanistan, the country’s stability has also become critical to US interests. In such a scenario, there is talk that India and the United States will work together to assist the Afghan government and military. Against this backdrop, Secretary of State Blinken’s visit will be significant. At the same time, there is a strong possibility that the US Secretary of State will discuss China-related policies with Indian leaders.

China’s hegemonic policies have threatened the security of the Indo-Pacific region. India, the United States, Japan and Australia are uniting to stop China. But by challenging India on the LAC, China is doing its best to prevent India’s participation in QUAD. The message is being conveyed to India by the United States that this is why the US is ready to co-operate with India against China. A recent report by the US Congressional Research Service claims that the US will prioritize increased cooperation with India.

The Biden administration neither agrees with India’s position on the Kashmir issue. Besides, it made attempts to counsel India on the issue of human rights and religious tolerance. But India has said it does not accept the Biden administration’s repression. The United States has also realized that India is the most important country to stop China. Therefore, the report claims that the United States will not change the policy to assist India against China despite differences.
