Third World WarWashington : The United States has begun vigorous preparations for the space war by indicating that space is the new battlefield of the future. A few months ago, the United States Department of Defense, which was preparing to launch a military base in space, has now started taking steps to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology for space warfare. The US President Donald Trump had announced the establishment of a space force last year by stating that, ‘the United States must take measures to protect its interest in space while China and Russia prepare for space war.’ Within a few months, Trump announced that a separate space command had been established in the US Defense Department.

From the past few months, there are indications that these space commands are rapidly preparing for war. The US Department of Defense announced within a few months that the neutral particle beam would be tested after the establishment of space command. It has been claimed that this beam is used to destroy dangerous satellites.

With the deployment of ground and advanced weapons, the enemy needs to respond promptly, and preparations have begun for the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in the decision-making process of Space War. Booz Allen Hamilton, a US’s leading consulting firm in information technology, has developed an independent system. There are indications that the technology could be used by the US Department of Defense. Lt. Gen. Christopher Bogdan, a senior officer at Booz Allen Hamilton and former US military officer, spoke about the new system. It is being said that Artificial Intelligence (AI) could be used to speed up the information analysis and decision-making processes related to space conflicts. According to Lt.Gen. Christopher Bogdan, AI can immediately provide information on the location, speed, target and potential damage of an anti-satellite weapon from Russia or China.

The United States Department of Defense is also trying to develop smart satellites using AI to avoid or minimise satellite damage in space warfare.
