US demonstrated inhumanity imposing sanctions on Iran – Iranian President criticises US 

Tehran: – Iranian President Hassan Rouhani made vitriolic criticism ‘The Iranian Population has suffered losses to the tune of $150 billion due to the US sanctions. The Iranian economy has taken a severe hit due to the illegal and inhuman sanctions, imposed by the United States and the terrorist activities and Iran has never seen such inhumanity.’ Iranian Foreign Minister Jawad Zarif accused the United States of medical terrorism, as the Iranian fight against the Coronavirus is getting hampered given the sanctions.

In 2018, US President Donald Trump announced withdrawal from the nuclear deal with Iran. President Trump had accused that Iran has strengthened the nuclear and missile program taking undue advantage of the nuclear deal. President Trump followed up this withdrawal, with the imposition of sanctions against Iran. The United States has intensified the sanctions imposed against Iran over the last two years. Iran had claimed that these US sanctions are not affecting Iran in any way. But now, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has confessed that the Iranian economy has taken a severe hit because of the US sanctions.   

Rouhani expressed anger over the national news channel that the US sanctions are illegal and inhuman. Rouhani announced that these sanctions have caused a loss of more than $150 billion to the Iranian population. The Iranian President accused that the Iranian population is not able to purchase food and medicines because of these sanctions. Therefore, the Iranian President told the people of Iran to curse and hate the United States.   

Iranian Foreign Minister, Jawad Zarif blamed that the US sanctions are the best example of medical terrorism. He accused while talking to a Russian news channel, that these sanctions are creating obstacles in purchasing medicines and other necessary assistance, required in the fight against Coronavirus. The Iranian health department informed that there are 446,448 Coronavirus cases in Iran and 25,589 deaths have been reported. But the Khamenei opponents are claiming that the Iranian government is hiding facts regarding the actual number of cases and deaths. There is discontent brewing even in the Iranian population over the issue and the issue was raised in the Iranian parliament. The Iranian President and the Foreign Minister have levelled accusations that the US sanctions are responsible for the state in Iran, only for this purpose.
