US and Russia trade serious allegations over the use of chemical weapons in Syria

US National Security Advisor, John Bolton has warned Russia and accused that the Syrian military is preparing for a chemical attack. Whereas, Russia has accused that the United States, France and the United Kingdom are themselves planning to carry out chemical attacks to target Syria. This has increased the possibility of more dreadful disasters in Syria. The United States, France and the United Kingdom had carried out crushing air raids on Syria accusing the Syrian government of executing a chemical attack.

US President Trump had recently issued a stern warning to the Assad government in Syria. Trump had warned that the United States will retaliate with fierce attacks if there is an incident of chemical attack in Syria. US National Security Advisor John Bolton had also reprimanded Russia over the issue of chemical attacks in their meeting in Geneva. Bolton issued this warning during his meeting with the Russian National Security Advisor Nikolai Patrushev on 22nd of August at Geneva. Bolton had said that the United States will take a hash action if the Syrian government carried out a chemical attack. There was a Russian reaction to this warning.

In such a scenario, the United States warning to Syria and Russia becomes very significant. More importantly, the Turkish Foreign Minister, currently on his Russia visit has also issued a warning to Russia about the Idlib conflict.

In April 2017, the United States had carried out crushing attacks, launching 60 cruise missiles against Syria for carrying out a chemical attack. A year since this incident, the United States, France and the United Kingdom attacked Syria, accusing it of chemical attacks. Therefore, the warnings by the United States to Syria along with Russia about the use of chemical weapons, are increasing the tension in the region. At the same time, the Russian counter accusations against the warnings are adding to the further tensions.
