US military loots Syrian oil – alleges China’s Foreign Ministry

Beijing: The US Army, years-long stationed in Syria for military operations, has been looting the country’s oil. Reacting to the news published in the Syrian media, China’s Foreign Ministry accused Syria of being on the brink of the biggest humanitarian crisis.

US military loots Syrian oil - alleges China's Foreign MinistryThe Syrian mouthpiece had published that the US sent 53 fuel-filled tankers from Syria’s Hasaka province to its military base in Iraq. Besides, it said that the US military had sought the help of local Kurdish rebels for this. There were allegations, even earlier, that the US had sent 60 tankers full of fuel from Syria to Iraq.

Reacting to this, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin alleged the US military deployment in Syria was for fuel theft. China claimed that this US loot created a fuel and humanitarian crisis in Syria. Moreover, China’s Foreign Ministry drew attention to the fact that according to Syrian government figures, the US military has been smuggling 80 % of its oil supplies daily.
