US-Israel responsible for riots in Iran - Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah

Tehran: ‘I say explicitly that these riots and this insecurity were a design by the US and the occupying, fake Zionist regime [Israel] and those who are paid by them, and some traitorous Iranians abroad helped them,’ the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei, made a serious allegation. He cast blame that these countries would have found some other reason and tried to create instability in Iran if not for Mahsa Amini’s death.

On September 16, Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Kurdish girl held captive by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, died suspiciously. The Iranian regime was accused of being responsible for the death of Mahsa, who was the face of the anti-hijab protests, which sparked a strong movement in the country. Iranian media claims that 93 people have been killed in this movement so far. There were reports that the soldiers of the Basij Militia military group were involved in this. Moreover, there was a claim that the Revolutionary Guards detained around 1500 people.

It revealed that the Revolutionary Guards stormed the premises of a famous university in the capital of Tehran a few hours ago and arrested young students. The Revolutionary Guards have accused these students of participating in the anti-hijab movement. But the action of the Revolutionary Guards is being criticised by Iran. Most groups in Iran have begun to participate in the youth movement. The movement has gripped many cities for the past two weeks, including the capital Tehran. It also had repercussions on the Iranian Parliament. Various demonstrations have been held in Iran so far. Previous protests were anti-government. But this year’s protests have been called for a change in Iran, which has become an alarm bell, said Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, Speaker of the Parliament of Iran. Also, Qalibaf appealed to the representatives of the people of Iran to take care that this violence does not flare up and does not create a threat to the country’s security.

Besides, the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei, reacted to these protests in Iran for the first time in the last 14 days. Khamenei determined the demonstrations, which have raged for more than the past two weeks, as riots. Khamenei alleged that the US and Israel wanted to destabilise Iran and had ignited this riot. Khamenei pointed out that the events that happened in Iran after the death of Mahsa Amini were not natural. The Supreme Leader of Iran claimed that all this was made to happen.
