US and China should make each other aware of their limits, Kissinger

Washington: The United States and China should sit across the table and decide as to which limits should not be violated by the other. This issue can be dismissed by saying that this discussion cannot happen in the current scenario, but if that does not occur, a situation like the first world war will be created, warned senior US Statesman Henry Kissinger.

97 years old Kissinger was speaking at a discussion organised by one of the think tanks. Kissinger, who has served as the Secretary of State and National Security Advisor of the United States is believed to be the pioneer of the modern US foreign policy. It was Kissinger who rocked the USSR by getting China to support the United States in the cold war with the USSR. It is believed that the United States benefited tremendously from his statesmanship, and he was the reason for the United States emerging victorious in the cold war. Therefore, the statements made by Kissinger against the background of the US-China tension become noteworthy.

Kissinger advised, ‘The United States feels that there should be no challenge posed by any other country to the military and economic might of the United States. But with the phenomenal advances in technology, the days of single country domination are over. Therefore, the United States should compromise with the changing times and demonstrate more creativity.’ Therefore, Kissinger has suggested that the United States and China should make their limits known to each other.
