Beijing/Washington/Taipei: The Chinese military spokesman warned that the United States could not interfere in any Chinese decisions regarding Taiwan. At the same time, Ren Guoqiang, spokesman of the Chinese defence ministry, also warned that the only option is to integrate Taiwan into China; Taiwanese independence will be an invitation for war. The visits of the US Senators to Taiwan, supply of Corona vaccines and the subsequent patrolling by the destroyer has made China restless; the new threat seems to be the reaction against it.
Ren Guoqiang, the Chinese defence ministry spokesman, warned, ‘Nobody can stop China’s actions regarding Taiwan. Therefore, the United States should make a note of this. At the same time, it should also remember that China is firmly opposed to any official exchanges or any military relations between the United States and Taiwan.’ The Chinese spokesman threatened that the only option available to Taiwan is integration into China and Taiwanese independence will be an invitation for a war. The Chinese spokesman further threatened that if Taiwan seeks assistance from the United States, it will still fail.
China once again justified the intrusion by its airplanes into the Taiwanese airspace. Ren Guoqiang, the Chinese defence ministry spokesman, claimed that the Chinese fighter jets held war exercises considering the situation in the Taiwanese marine sector and the security of sovereignty. However, it has been exposed that a whopping 28 Chinese fighter jets intruded into the Taiwanese airspace last week. This was the biggest intrusion by Chinese airplanes in the Taiwanese airspace to date.
Tremendous tension is currently reigning between the United States and China. During a function held in 2019, Chinese President Xi Jinping openly said that every possible option would be exercised to integrate Taiwan into China. After that, the United States made its policy more aggressive and increased its military movements in the Taiwanese marine region. Combining it with diplomatic visits and other decisions, the United States is making all possible efforts to counter China on the Taiwan issue.
At the beginning of this month, three US Senators visited Taiwan. After that, leading countries and the United States expressed support to Taiwan during the G-7 and NATO meetings, firing salvos of criticism at China. The United States also announced the supply of millions of doses of Corona vaccine to Taiwan. Information was received that this was followed up with patrolling by a US destroyer in the marine region near Taiwan. China is infuriated because of these increasing US activities and these aggressive statements by China seem to be the result of the same restlessness.
