The US Air Force should be ready for war with China by 2025

Washington: The US and Taiwan will be busy with elections in 2024. The US will not be much attentive towards international affairs during this period. Besides, Chinese President Xi Jinping will use this opportunity to attack Taiwan. War will flare up between the US and China if this happens. Thus, the US Air Force should prepare to win the ‘First Island Chain’ in this maritime sector, warns General Mike Minihan, a senior officer of the US Air Force.

General Mike Minihan, head of US Air Mobility Command-AMC, has sent a memo to the 50,000 servicemen under his command. In this, General Minihan has ordered AMC’s wing commanders to prepare for war against China. General Minihan said they were sure that a war with China would ignite by 2025. Besides, AMC personnel have been instructed to practice assisting fighter and bomber aircraft at a distance of seven meters. General Minihan said in the memo that AMC personnel should be ready for all possibilities.

Moreover, the AMC Chief ordered his soldiers to prepare for the exercise in February and March. Simultaneously, General Minihan has suggested equipping the KC-135 aircraft for dual performance. The US Air Force‘s AMC division provides fuel to fighter, bomber, and heavy cargo aircraft. KC-135 is a fuel tanker aircraft used for air-to-air refuelling. But General Minihan has pointed out that this tanker aircraft can also be used to drop 100 drones on China.

AMC acknowledged this after General Minihan’s memo was published in the media. But the US Department of Defense has distanced itself from this. The concerned officials have stated that General Minihan’s order is not the policy of the US Department of Defense towards China. The Defense Department acknowledges a security threat to the Indo-Pacific region from China. Pentagon spokesman Brigadier General Patrick Ryder said that the United States has been discussing with its allies and partner countries to maintain peace and freedom in the Indo-Pacific region.

Meanwhile, in an interview, Taiwan’s Foreign Minister Joseph Wu warned that Chinese President Xi Jinping will try to attack Taiwan by 2025. Also, the Foreign Minister of Taiwan had appealed to the international community to support Taiwan against China.
