Washington: – Russia had accused that the United States had situated laboratories in Ukraine for developing bioweapons. Besides, Russia had found evidence related to it and accused the United States of destroying some proof when Russia invaded Ukraine. The Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs of the United States, Victoria Nuland, accepted that Biolabs were indeed there in Ukraine. Nuland expressed a grave concern that the technology will now land in the hands of the Russian military. British military intelligence agency accused Russia of trying to justify its attack on Ukraine, claiming that Ukraine was developing biological and nuclear weapons. After that, US Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland criticized Russia at a hearing before the US Senate within the next few hours for attacking Ukraine.
There are bio-research centres in Ukraine. But now, these research centres may fall into the hands of the Russian military. Therefore, the United States is assisting Ukraine to prevent these centres from falling into Russian hands, Nuland justified the US bio-research centres and US participation in that. Senior US Senator Marco Rubio posed counter questions to Nuland. Marco asked questions like ‘How true are the claims in the Russian media that Ukraine is trying to launch biological attacks with assistance from NATO?’, ‘If a biological attack originates from Ukraine, will Russia be responsible for the attack?’ While answering the questions, Nuland accused Russia of launching a biological attack in Ukraine and blaming it on others.
Consequently, the media has pointed out that the US Undersecretary is indirectly confessing that the US was preparing to develop bioweapons in Ukraine laboratories. At the same time, the media is also claiming that the reaction of Nuland endorses Russian claims that the United States was funding these laboratories in Ukraine.
Furthermore, Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova targeted the United States over the issue of Biolabs in Ukraine. Zakharova demanded that the United States should answer, not only to Russia but also to the entire international community, why it set up a bioweapons laboratory in Ukraine close to the Russian border. She further slammed them that Russia doesn’t want an explanation regarding the 30 laboratories in Ukraine which were used for peaceful and scientific objectives. But, the United States should answer to the world as to why the laboratories were set up near the Russian border? And why did the United States fund these laboratories?
The Russian defence ministry accused that research was being conducted on Plague, Anthrax and other poisonous viruses in the Biolabs in Ukraine. After Russia raised questions over the US Biolabs, even China had asked for clarifications from Pentagon. The Chinese foreign ministry demanded that the Pentagon release the information regarding all the Biolabs operated by the Pentagon.
