US leaves Bagram Airbase in Afghanistan after two decades

Kabul – Bagram Airbase, the central point of the US military deployment in Afghanistan, has been vacated by the United States. The United States has indicated that the US military withdrawal is nearing completion by vacating the Bagram Airbase. Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid has welcomed the development.

Australian analyst, Nishank Motwani, working in Afghanistan, claimed that the United States vacating the Bagram Airbase means leaving Afghanistan alone, in front of the Taliban. At the same time, Motwani warned that the US and NATO soldiers would see on reaching home that the country, Afghanistan, they protected for the last 20 years, is burning again.
