Taliban threatens to release refugees in US & Europe if the latter continues sanctions against them

Kabul/New York: – Amir Khan Muttaqi, Taliban’s caretaker Foreign Minister, threatened, ‘It is not in anyone’s interest to weaken the Taliban regime. If the influx of refugees from Afghanistan goes to the west, it will have a direct negative impact on global security and the economy.’ The Taliban is threatening the international community to start providing financial assistance to Afghanistan to avoid this. But members of the US Senate have warned that the Haqqani network, a Pakistan affiliated terrorist group, would benefit if the international community began providing financial assistance to Afghanistan.

For the past few days, the Taliban has been holding talks with representatives of western countries in Doha, the capital of Qatar. Foreign Minister Muttaqi is leading the Taliban delegation, and he also held talks with US envoys last week. Even during this discussion, Muttaqi had threatened that it would not be in anyone’s interest to destabilise the Taliban regime in Afghanistan. The Taliban issued a stern warning in a meeting with EU representatives a few hours ago.

‘All countries should cooperate to keep the banks in Afghanistan afloat by lifting sanctions on Taliban. If international funding continues to flow, Afghanistan government will be able to pay its employees.’ Muttaqi claimed. But while demanding the lifting of sanctions, the Taliban has threatened to release Afghan refugees to European countries.

European countries are claimed to be more intimidated by the influx of Afghan refugees than the United States. Because of the conflicts in Iraq and Syria over the last few years and the violence, instability and chaos in Africa, millions of refugees have fled to Europe. It has been revealed that this is having a detrimental effect on public life in Europe.

Since the Taliban took control of Kabul in the last two months, there have been reports of large numbers of refugees fleeing to Europe via neighbouring countries. Turkey has said it will not accept the refugees and has threatened to send them to European countries. Currently, there are thousands of Afghan refugees on the borders of Iran, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Pakistan. In such a scenario, the Taliban has threatened to release these refugees into the European countries.

‘Don’t be under the illusion that if the United States or the international community provides financial assistance to Afghanistan as humanitarian aid, the aid will reach the Afghans,’ warned US Senator Mike Waltz. The Haqqani network, which controls Kabul, will benefit from the funding. Senator Waltz, who was stationed in Afghanistan, reminded the US Senate that the Haqqani network has hijacked international aid even in the past.
