Wednesday, around nightfall, military posts in the Kalankecha, Moshan and Maywand areas came under attack. An encounter ensued between the Afghan security forces and the Taliban. 27 terrorists were killed in the encounter. The ANA spokesman informed that no casualties were reported from the ANA side.

The spate of Taliban attacks continues even after the peace deal, signed between the United States and Taliban, in February. 30 people were killed in a Taliban attack, just two days ago. 146 people have been killed in Afghanistan, in Taliban attacks, in the last one month. The spate of Taliban attacks seems to have restarted after the US military withdrawal from five bases. In view of these attacks, negotiations between the Taliban and the Afghan government are not making any progress.
